Let's Grow Food Together for the National Rainbow Gathering 2025

The Garden in Tennessee is putting a call to action out to invite people to come help make a dream come to fruition. Folks at The Garden have a vision of wanting to use unused fields to provide fresh produce for the next upcoming national rainbow gathering. But we need folks like you to come help work the ground, plants the seeds, water the plants, help weed, and eventually harvest it to go to the gathering!

This is a big undertaking that can't be done without more help, since this would be more food to grow, besides the usual load the garden takes on to feed the community as of now.

Planting for the gathering would start as soon as February/March 2025.

What is the National Rainbow Gathering? A movement that was started back in the 70s by the veterans for peace, to gather in the woods free from fireworks, to pray for peace, for the dates of July 1st-7th with the height of the gathering being July 4th. People gather on national forest land in a new location every year. And during the nationals a vision council works on deciding where to gather the next year. This coming gathering is being scouted between Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

Seed camps start usually a month before to set up free food kitchens for the gathering. After it's over folks stay behind to clean the woods, sort trash/recycling, and renaturalize it as if no one was there to begin with. Thousands of people gather on national forest land. The gathering is ran off donations, like food, no money is used there besides in collections for magic hat to buy kitchen needs. So it's our dream to grow food for the intention of helping feed the gathering! To work on the values we all desire to create a better world.

The Garden is an open door community located in Lafayette Tennessee, it is a hub for education like off grid living skills, living together, focus of sustainability, growing food, permaculture, mutual aid, etc. to be an example to create more spaces for people and the planet to live in better harmony with each other.
