The Two Dollar Revolution
This year The People’s Project has been putting more focus and energy into our program called, The Two Dollar Revolution, for just $2 a day, week, or hour, you can contribute towards land-based liberation. In which we hold Lands in a trust called, Share The Land Trust Inc., to be shared by people who uphold the values of; autonomy, equality, sustainable earth stewardship, and peaceful cooperation. Those that subscribe on the website, www.peoplesprojectearth.org , also have access to The Shared Land Tab, a list that consists of currently 13 lands, with contact information to visit.
We envision a vast network - an entire society, if you will - of Shared Land Communities with diverse guidelines and standards that facilitate Earth-friendly, community living. People sharing the Earth and taking care of each other. The 2 Dollar Revolution is a people powered movement. The more people participating, the more power to the people. With these funds, The People’s Project is enabled to purchase land when the opportunity is ripe.Small change, big revolution!

Expanding Long Leaf Layover
First, what is Long Leaf Layover? LLL, is a land in the Permaculture Mutual Aid Network, it is located in Interlachen Florida, about 30 mins east of Gainesville. It is currently zoned as recreational land. Folks can visit for 2 weeks, leave for 24 hours, and return. It is used during winter, as a rest stop “layover”. There is an outdoor kitchen, rain collection for water, compost garden, and composting toilet.

At our annual spring meeting, The People’s Project learned that if we own an acre of land all touching where LLL is located, we can have permanent residency, which would create the opportunity for land stewards to steward the space year-round. Since it isn’t occupied year-round, we have experienced people destroying the property and looting it in the off season. We have reached out to nearby landowners to see if they would consider donating their land, have been watching for local auctions. If we are successful, some funds from The Two Dollar Revolution will be used to purchase a lot touching the outdoor kitchen property.

Spring Tree Planting, ND
Year 2: The spring tree planting mission in North Dakota, that took place at 4 different Native Reservations, was a huge success this year! 1,000 native edible trees, and berry bushes were planted. We had around 35+ volunteers that helped dig holes, plant trees, mulch, water, stake, cage, and even some volunteers helped create infrastructure at 2kettles, to help future planting missions. We plan on making the North Dakota tree planting mission a yearly endeavor and can’t wait to see it continue to grow. We hope to see you next year!

Produce Grown, and Shared at Rainbow
This year, early in spring, there was a vision to grow, harvest, and share fresh organic produce at the National Rainbow Gathering. Volunteers in early spring started working the land and provided the gathering with fresh beets, onions, carrots, cucumbers, and herbs for tea and cooking.
Fall Tree Planting

End of summer/early fall has kicked off tree planting at The Garden, with a goal to plant around 200 trees/berries. The Garden also has become a part of Perennial Crops Nursery LLC, you can purchase trees, bushes, and herbs in which the funds will be used to expand the nursery, purchase more varieties of genetics, & more! Nurseries are located in La Plata Missouri, Davenport Iowa, and Lafayette TN. Perennial Crops Nursery – Trees, Crops, and More
Progress at The Lakeland

The Lakeland is a 16-acre parcel located in Celina Tennessee, about a .25 mile walk from Dale Hollow Lake. Volunteers last year in the fall started an outdoor kitchen. This year in the spring volunteers continued to work on building the stove, oven, water catchment, and eating area within. There are also kayaks, and canoes visitors can take out to explore the lake. Visitors can expect primitive camping at this location. The Lakeland is also connected to over 200,000 acres of army core land, offering limitless potential for exploring the woods from our homebase. We are currently looking for people to help steward this land who will uphold the values of sustainable earth stewardship, peaceful cooperation, autonomy, and equality.
Benefits of Donating Your Land
By donating property, you would not only free yourself from any future tax or maintenance burdens, but you could also benefit from a significant tax deduction. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we can provide a tax-deductible receipt for the fair market value of the land. In many cases, this deduction can be used to reduce your taxable income, potentially lowering your overall tax liability for the year of the donation.
